As the Lead Interior Designer at Lemfun, my objective for the Jungle Jim and Jane project was to translate a classic adventurous theme into a sophisticated, high-capacity commercial environment. Located at 2399 NJ Route 36 Eastpointe Plaza, Atlantic Highlands, NJ 07716, this 360sqm facility required a meticulous balance between high-energy play zones and organized social spaces.
By utilizing jungle styled kids indoor play area for business principles, we transformed a shell space into a multi-dimensional ecosystem that serves both toddlers and school-aged children without compromising on safety or aesthetic cohesion.
The client’s vision was clear: a comprehensive jungle sanctuary that felt immersive rather than cluttered. The program required the integration of a massive maze play area, a dedicated kids' soft play zone for younger guests, a kinetic merry-go-round, a ball pool, and a high-performance slide game set.
Beyond the play equipment, the brief emphasized the "Party Area" as a primary revenue driver. From a design perspective, this meant the Jungle Themed Commercial Indoor Play Equipment in New Jersey had to be positioned to allow for clear sightlines from the seating areas, ensuring parents could relax while children explored the "canopy."
Designing for a 360sqm (approx. 3,875 sqft) space in Atlantic Highlands presented a specific spatial planning puzzle. We had to accommodate five distinct play attractions plus a party zone without creating "dead zones" or bottlenecking the foot traffic.
The primary site challenge was the height-to-width ratio. To solve this, we moved away from a flat layout and embraced verticality. The "Jungle" theme allowed us to use structural pillars as "trees," integrating them into the maze play area to mask the building's necessary supports while expanding the playable square footage upwards.
Our design team implemented a "Zoned Adventure" logic to ensure age-appropriate play and seamless flow.
The Multi-Level Jungle Maze: This is the heart of the facility. We engineered a robust structural frame featuring forest-green powder-coated steel, wrapped in high-density foam padding with wood-grain textures. Inside, children encounter rope bridges, "snake" crawl tunnels, and sensory obstacles.
The Kids' Ball Pool & Slide Game Set: We opted for a custom-molded spiral slide and a triple-lane wave slide in vibrant lime and earth tones. These discharge into a massive ball pool filled with pearl-white and translucent green balls, simulating a hidden forest pond. The pool's depth is calibrated specifically for the safety of school-aged children while remaining accessible for supervised toddlers.
The Soft Play Zone & Merry-Go-Round: For the 0-3 age group, we designed a low-impact perimeter zone. This includes a coconut-tree-themed motorized merry-go-round with soft-seat swings, promoting vestibular development. The surrounding soft play area features oversized plush animals and foam "fallen logs" for climbing.
Integrated Party Area: Rather than walling off the party rooms, we used themed partitions that maintain the jungle aesthetic. This ensures that the jungle styled kids indoor play area for business remains the focal point even during private events, keeping the energy high and the branding consistent.
