The client came to Lemfun with a clear and delightful ambition: to create a fully immersive candy-themed indoor playground experience for the Isanti, Minnesota community. Situated at 291 5th Avenue Northeast, Suite 104, Isanti, MN 55040, the 400-square-meter facility needed to serve a dual demographic — energetic toddlers and adventurous school-aged children — under one cohesive, sugary aesthetic. The client's wish list was specific and ambitious: a maze play area, kids trampoline zone, merry-go-round, kids role-play house, and a soft play area, all wrapped in a world where lollipops, gumdrops, and candy canes set the visual tone.

From the very first design consultation, Lemfun's creative team recognized that this project wasn't simply about placing equipment into a room. It was about engineering a destination — a place where children step through the entrance and feel as though they've tumbled into a giant candy jar. That clarity of vision became the foundation for everything that followed. As a Candy Themed Playcenter Indoor Play Park in Minnesota, Little North Playland was designed to stand out in a competitive market and become the region's most talked-about family entertainment venue.

Working within a 400-square-meter footprint presented genuine spatial planning challenges. Fitting five distinct attraction zones — each requiring dedicated clearance, safety buffering, traffic flow corridors, and age-appropriate separation — demanded precision in layout rendering and zoning logic.
The primary constraint was circulation. With toddlers and older children sharing the same facility, the floor plan had to create intuitive, instinctive flow that naturally guided younger children toward safer, gentler zones while allowing older kids to migrate toward higher-energy attractions without conflict. Additionally, the candy theme had to remain visually consistent across every zone without feeling chaotic — a fine balance between maximizing sensory impact and maintaining aesthetic coherence throughout the space.
Structural column positioning within Suite 104 also influenced the layout, requiring Lemfun's design team to integrate those fixed architectural elements creatively into the candy world narrative rather than working against them.

Lemfun's design team responded with a zoned spatial strategy built around a central candy-themed soft play island, from which all other attractions radiate — creating both functional separation and visual connectivity.

Maze Play Area — Designed as a towering "Candy Castle Labyrinth," the multi-level maze features translucent candy-colored panels, spiral slide exits shaped like twisted lollipop sticks, and tunnel passages decorated with oversized gummy bear motifs. The maze challenges school-aged children with directional problem-solving while incorporating bright, saturated color blocks of cherry red, bubblegum pink, and lime green to reinforce the candy aesthetic at every turn.
Kids Trampoline Area — The trampoline zone is rendered in a "Bouncing Candy Cloud" concept, featuring foam-padded perimeters decorated with cotton candy cloud graphics and jelly bean patterns embedded into the trampoline mat surfaces. Safety netting is finished in translucent pastel tones, maintaining the candy color palette without interrupting sightlines for supervising parents.
Merry-Go-Round — A custom-designed carousel sits as the spatial centerpiece anchor point, featuring ride seats sculpted to resemble oversized cupcakes, macarons, and ice cream cones. The canopy above is finished with rotating candy stripe detailing in classic red and white, serving as both an attraction and a dramatic visual focal point visible from the facility entrance.
Kids Role-Play House — The role-play zone is designed as a "Candy Shop Village" — a miniature streetscape of small-scale storefronts where children can role-play as bakers, confectioners, and shop owners. Props include pretend candy jars, oversized fake lollipops, play cash registers, and dress-up aprons printed with candy branding. This zone nurtures imaginative, socially developmental play within a richly detailed candy-world environment.
Soft Play Area — The candy themed indoor soft play area is purpose-designed for toddlers aged 1–4, featuring low-height foam climbing blocks shaped like stacked macarons, padded crawl tunnels styled as licorice twists, and a foam ball pool filled with multicolored balls mimicking a jar of mixed candies. All surfaces are upholstered in high-density, wipe-clean foam with anti-microbial fabric finishes in the signature candy palette.

Little North Playland represents Lemfun's design philosophy at its fullest expression: every spatial decision serves both function and fantasy. By resolving the site's layout constraints through disciplined spatial planning, maintaining rigorous candy-theme aesthetics from floor graphics to ceiling treatments, and engineering age-appropriate zones that feel seamlessly connected, Lemfun has delivered a facility that operates as beautifully as it looks.

For families across Isanti, MN and the broader Minnesota region, Little North Playland is more than a playground — it is a fully realized candy world, built to create memories one sweet adventure at a time.
