When a client from Cherry Hill Township, New Jersey contacted us, the project requirements were already very specific. The site was located at 2000 NJ-38, 2nd Floor, Cherry Hill Township, NJ 08002, with a total usable area of approximately 420 square meters.
The client’s goal was practical: to build an indoor playground that could serve different age groups while meeting U.S. market standards. Their initial request focused on creating a space that included a toddler area, a trampoline area, and a main playground area.

At the early stage, the venue was an empty commercial space with no internal zoning or existing structures. For this indoor playground set in New Jersey, design decisions had to balance safety, compliance, and play value.
The client raised two main concerns. First, whether the playground equipment could meet ASTM standards and whether supporting documentation could be provided to assist with inspections and approval. Second, after reviewing the first proposal, the client felt the overall color tone was too dark and not suitable for children aged 6–12.

Instead of focusing only on visual changes, our team re-evaluated the overall play experience and space utilization. The trampoline area was slightly reduced to allow more room for the main playground zone, which better matched the target age group.
Circulation paths were optimized to improve supervision, and a climbing wall was added in a corner with sufficient height, transforming vertical space into an engaging play feature without increasing the footprint.
From a manufacturing perspective, all equipment was produced according to ASTM-related requirements. Key specifications such as steel structure thickness, padding depth, and safety details were confirmed before production.
After installation and opening, the playground integrated smoothly into the local commercial environment. Reflecting on the finished project, the client shared:“It feels like we brought a piece of the candy wonderland indoors.”

This project in Cherry Hill, New Jersey highlights that a successful indoor playground is not defined by appearance alone. Early attention to ASTM compliance, clear age positioning, and efficient use of space all play a critical role. Honest feedback and step-by-step coordination lead to smoother execution and better long-term operation.
